Keeping dogs
To own a dog means to treat him against worms, fleas, ticks, spay/neuter and
chip him, and register the owner in the Municipality. We help dog owners without good income to treat their dogs and the Municipalities to control dog owners.
Law and politics
Since 2017 we tried hard to implement a program for responsible dog ownership. We invited the former CEO of the Food & Veterinary Administration Kosovo to Switzerland, showed him our registration system with Amicus/Anis. He was informed by the County and Country Veterinary Administration how to proceed and did nothing. With the new CEO Flamur Kadriu under the PM Albin Kurti we started in 2021
again to promote the responsible dog ownership with the help of our partner vets. As EU donated microchips we donated the installation of a central register as well as 15500 pet passports to the state. The registration program started 2023 in most regions of Kosovo, but only a few veterinarians are allowed to do it for free in the first year :-(
The success of dog owner control will only be there if all veterinarians are allowed to serve their clients.
