How people handle dogs all over the world
It was with great pleasure that we were able to see that REGIO Oberland Once again interested in our work in Kosovo and has published another detailed report about our StrayCoCo Foundation. The article from June 16, 2016 In particular, illuminates our then newly opened sanctuary in Nagavc near Rahovec, where many of the old, sick or disabled dogs find refuge — animals that no one wants and for which there is no chance of adoption. For them, the sanctuary became a safe home.
At the heart of the article is StrayCoco's ethical claim that every life counts — regardless of age, health status or visual appearance. The report gives an insight into the loving everyday life with these special dogs, including some of the first patients from the early stages of our work. Many of these animals still live with us today — in now better-equipped accommodation in Gjakovawhere the sanctuary later moved.
The Regio editorial team not only describes the practical work, but also the challenges: Caring for old or handicapped dogs involves a great deal of effort, patience and considerable costs. Nevertheless, it is a core concern of our foundation to enable these animals in particular to live with dignity — right up to the end of their natural lives.
We would like to thank the REGIO Oberland From the bottom of my heart for the repeated interest and continuous media support for our project. The media attention helps us enormously to gain supporters and to raise awareness of animal welfare in the Balkans.
