Skenderaj

The mayor of the town is a dog owner and personally goes to our partner vet in Mitrovica, DVM Labinot Osmani. In January 2022, he asked him for a cooperation agreement for the vaccination and castration of street dogs and privately kept dogs. This contract was signed at the beginning of February and from March 2022, 550 dogs in this village will be treated by us. We feel welcome in this city!

In May 2023, we signed the next contract with Mayor Fadil Nura, who also showed interest in our castration work. We will also castrate in 2024 in cooperation with the municipality of Skenderaj!

Spring 2023: Our dog catchers, here the employee Elbasan, treat street dogs gently. Whenever possible, they are fed until they get into the van almost by themselves. They are driven to Mitrovica to our Mitro-Vet clinic, where they are dewormed, vaccinated against rabies and castrated. After 3-5 days, they are allowed back on the road - with such beautiful dogs, bringing them back is always accompanied by mixed feelings for everyone involved. It hurts to leave them alone again, even though we feed them. But a short period of freedom is more valuable than any stay in an animal shelter! And for now, returning to the streets in Kosovo is (still) allowed!
