ICAM Coalition Online Meeting

Development and application of a humane approach to animals.

Forum on pet husbandry and stray animals

In June 2024, we received a special invitation: We were invited to an online meeting of ICAM Coalition (International Companion Animal Management Coalition) present our project — a milestone for our foundation. Our participation was supported by the valuable support of Four Paws Vienna made possible, which we would like to thank very much!

ICAM is an internationally recognized network that is committed to the development and implementation of humane, effective and sustainable pet management worldwide. The coalition was founded in 2006 — with the aim of bringing together leading animal welfare organizations that deal with the keeping, protection and management of dogs and cats. The focus is on sharing knowledge, experience and methods in order to develop long-term solutions to the global problem of stray populations.

The ICAM Coalition is a charity (CIO Association) based in England and Wales. What makes this platform special: It offers NGOs, veterinarians, government representatives and experts from all over the world a space to exchange views on effective strategies — whether for castration, vaccination programs, the legal framework or raising public awareness.

In particular, our contribution to the forum presented our work in Kosovo and the Western Balkans. We reported on our veterinary clinic in Gjakova, the CNVR program, local challenges and our educational work. The exchange was extremely inspiring — we were not only able to make new contacts, but also benefit from the experiences of other countries.

We look forward to continuing to work with ICAM and other international partners to improve the management of pets and street animals worldwide.
