Dear animal friends and animal lovers,
The Christmas season reminds us how precious love and care are. But as we prepare for the most peaceful days of the year, countless stray dogs in Kosovo are fighting to survive every day. They urgently need vaccinations, medical care and, above all, food.
As a volunteer in Kosovo, I was recently able to see how much StrayCoco has already done. Thanks to your help, we have already given many animals a healthy life and prevented puppy births, but there is still so much to do: We urgently need support to treat strays and build a new veterinary clinic with sanctuary in Mitrovica. The search for sponsors for our new sanctuary dogs is also a matter close to the heart: With a monthly sponsorship of 40 euros or more, you can provide a dog with reliable care and a better life.
Give the abandoned animals the biggest Christmas gift — better health and therefore a chance of survival. Every donation counts and brings us closer to saving even more lives.
We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and wish you a peaceful Christmas season.

The certificate could look like this - and this male on the right cheekily sat in vet Labinot Osmani's car when he was on duty in Skenderaj. This clearly expressed canine will must be rewarded. He has now found his place with us in the Sanctuary, but so far he has neither a name nor a sponsorship.
Kosovo — a country full of contrasts that moved me deeply.
After landing in Pristina, we went straight to Gjakova. During my first walk, I met several friendly street dogs who looked at me with curiosity and hope. Many of them wore ear tags — a silent sign of the tireless work of those who give them a small measure of security. But not all were so lucky. A young female dog without an eartag caught my eye in particular. She looked lost, perhaps clueless of what was waiting for her outside. With a bit of patience, I was able to catch them and hand them over to a vet. She is now being castrated and vaccinated — a small success that gave me the feeling that I could really make a difference...

Thanks to great help from some donors, the Mitrovica Sanctuary on the hill has been completed and 35 trees have already been planted to make the heat more bearable. There is no hospital building yet, the dogs are still living in the middle of the city at the moment. Labinot Osmani still has a single treatment room in a factory (green building)! The current sanctuary is located in the backyard and is so flooded when it rains heavily that our dogs have to be rescued and brought to Vushtrri.
We have been very involved in this northeastern region for almost four years. The extremely large number of strays in the region requires space and, in addition to the outdoor sanctuary, individual boxes for sick dogs. We are now looking for donations to build the clinic on the safe hill so that we can break ground and relocate the Sanctuary dogs soon.
